Mexican born and raised, Fernando is one of the co-funder of the SMX Collective a Dutch-Mexican Human Rights grassroots organisation which in partnership with the International Human Rights Lawyers ‘Prakken d'Oliveira’, took legal action against the Dutch bank ‘Rabobank’ for money laundering of the Sinaloa Cartel and human rights violations in the border of Mexico.

Among other, Fernando trains human rights defenders on issues of holistic digital security and colaborates wirth artists to emphasise social justice issues locally and globally. He is currently a lecturer of Planetary and Identity Politics at Radboud University in Nijmegen.
